MINI Graphics Card - SMALL STATURE, BIG PUNCH
2019.08.19 4:00 AM
We live in times where being small isn't about giving in or giving up performance. We’re speaking in terms of graphics cards here. You see, more and more technology can be packed in a mere nanometer of a chip so “mini” doesn’t exactly mean mini anymore. We are already in the thicket of the "future" where manufacturing capabilities continue to improve, enabling a spiral of more densely packed power in a smaller package. On the canvas of PC gaming, ZOTAC has become a name and leader of all things "MINI" with graphics cards.
THE DEBUT OF MINI SERIES
ZOTAC has had a long history in building the ZBOX Mini PCs, but our acclaimed "MINI" graphics card has only hit the ground running since it was first introduced on the GeForce GTX 10 Series. As soon as ZOTAC's first "MINI" graphics card rolled out to the market in Dec 2016, the ZOTAC GeForce® GTX 1070 Mini blew up media:
"Size Means Nothing!"
- Akiatech
"It packs a ton of power into a compact card"
"Delivered performance level of a regular size graphics card"
DEVELOPMENT AND REVIEWS
More performance without compromise to cooling capability and coming with a better price, the first MINI was praised as "too good for the gamer". But "too good" is never enough for our engineers. We continued to work hard to prove gaming on a small scale didn’t have to mean sacrifice. The "MINI" momentum culminated as we became the first brand to launch a complete MINI graphics card series, covering from GeForce GTX 10 Series to the latest GeForce RTX SUPER Series GPU.

One of the most acclaimed MINI graphics card we created was ZOTAC GeForce® GTX 1080 MINI. It was the world's smallest GTX 1080, with a size that can fit in 99% of systems on the market, and gave superior performance and power efficiency alike. Fitted with a out-of-box overclock, a two-slot cooler, standard port selection and a nice backplate, it is regarded as "an intriguing recent step in that tiny-but-mighty direction", and the rest is history.
HOW MINI GOES STRONG
The emergence of the graphics card in a compact footprint has offered more choices to PC gamers. Some of our users have asked: how does ZOTAC overcome the technical impossibilities to create a small-yet-powerful card?
ALL ABOUT COOLING
Thermal control for the best performance is a challenging task in Mini-ITX form factors. Through relentless testing and improvements, we have optimized the fins and heatpipe layout of MINI cards.
We also tap into brute force cooling with IceStorm 2.0 (available in ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 20 Series), our strongest cooling system featuring wide curved fan blades plus a wide array aluminum heatsink. The MINI card could be further backed up by a wraparound metal backplate which provides additional protection and enhanced durability.
Though MINI graphics cards are not designed to outperform larger cards, they’re designed to provide the same level of performance you can expect from “reference model” of that particular series will provide but in a much more compact package you won’t find anywhere else.
