Yeah, the Zotac AMP Extreme edition of the RTX 2080 Ti is a small powerhouse. The product has been factory tweaked really well with a boost at 1810 MHz as well as a bump in memory frequency. The new design is appealing as well. While you can discuss the 2080 Ti performance positioning overall, it's validity and overall price level, we need to focus on what the board partners do with it. 

Having reviewed a number of RTX 2070 cards – all generally quite large and quite fast, I was very interested to get my hands on the Zotac RTX 2070 OC Mini.

We’ve seen a number of these Mini cards from Zotac in the past, but this is our first look at an RTX 20-series chip that has received the ‘Mini treatment’, and I have to say Zotac has done a very good job.

That’s because the card actually runs very cool considering its diminutive size, with a peak of just 63C on the GPU core. Power consumption is also the lowest we have seen from an RTX 2070, so that could also be a factor for some.

One element common to all of the RTX cards we've reviewed is their incredible consistency in performance. From the basic to the ludicrous, from mid-range to wallet-emptying, the newest nVidia Turing GPU has a relentless ability to extract the maximum from every single clock cycle, and it takes an awful lot for a manufacturer to tweak it up to the point it really makes a difference. With the Zotac AMP Extreme it comes out of the box with a seriously meaty overclock and this is borne out in our graphs where it regularly found itself ahead of the RTX 2070 pack.

Zotac's GeForce RTX 2080 AMP Extreme almost looks like a technology demonstrator for what you can do if you want to build the most powerful RTX 2080 card. The company has revamped the PCB design and given the VRM circuitry some extra love.

In a world seeming overrun with RGB-everything, we are kind of glad Zotac chose to limit the bling here to just the Spectra enabled logo. While that’s a bit of a subjective opinion, it does make the Amp Extreme a bit of a ‘sleeper’ in comparison to many cards on the market that are all bark and no bite.

Those with smaller systems will probably appreciate the narrow card pending they can accommodate the 308mm length. The cooler itself works quite well and keeps the card chilly even when overclocked, and doesn’t have to try too hard so the fans never ramp up much to make noise.

A fantastically powerful graphics card, and the fastest version of the RTX 2080 Ti we’ve tested, beating the Founders Edition at every turn.
