How can I enable/disable fan-stop on certain graphics card models?

The FREEZE fan stop is a feature available only on certain models. Look for the label or FREEZE badge on the packaging of the graphics card or on the product page or product brochure.

The FREEZE fan stop feature is automated and is enabled out of the box. There is no user interaction required to start the function.

For those with a graphics card equipped with FREEZE fan stop and want to disable the fan stop feature so that the fans spin at all times, it is possible to do using FireStorm.

To disable the fan stop feature there are two ways to do so:

  1. Manual Fan Setting
    1. Open FireStorm
    2. Select Manual. (On newer models that have Active Fan Control, also select the Fan Group (1 or 2))
    3. Move the slider to the right to the preferred fan speed.
    4. Click Apply (if needed) (Repeat for Fan Group 2 if needed)
  2. Custom Fan Curve
  3. Open FireStorm
  4. Select ADVANCED. (On newer models that have Active Fan Control, also select the Fan Group (1 or 2))
  5. Assign your preferred custom fan curve by adjusting the stepped graph. The Y-axis is the fan speed and the X-axis is the temperature of the graphics card. You will want to assign how fast the fan should spin when the graphics card reaches a certain temperature threshold.
  6. Click Apply. (Repeat for Fan Group 2 if needed)
