ZOTAC announces partnership with Valve Software at CES

ZOTAC kicked-off the new year with spectacular announcements at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. ZOTAC will partner with Valve for the development of the eagerly awaited Steam Machine. The ZOTAC ZBOX Steam Machine will ship with SteamOS preinstalled and include the Steam Controller. Gamers worldwide can expect the ZOTAC ZBOX Steam Machine to reach retailers in the second half of 2014. On top ZOTAC also presented for the first time the Sphere OI520, a mini-PC in an all new, orbicular design which caught the attention of press and visitors alike and gained phenomenal critics. More details will be released closer to the launch date. We’ll keep you posted!

Over the past few weeks, the ZOTAC Facebook Community has really exploded into life and there are now more than 70,000 followers among you, all hungrily feasting on the news, reviews and gaming related content available on our Facebook page. Here's to the road to 100,000! Stay tuned. It’s also very important for us to gather your thoughts in order to develop products that match your wishes and needs. We are proud to announce that ZOTAC is hosting two weekly Hearthstone cups starting in February.

ZOTAC StarCraft II Europe Cup
With the wins of “LiveZerg” and “Happy” this month, the Russians are now tied with Poland on 28 wins in place #2 and also both gathered enough points in order to get invited for the upcoming Monthly Final. Also interesting to see is that the French player “MarineLord”, who is someone you simply can't underestimate, took his second title in the ZOTAC StarCraft II Cup after his first glorious victory 6 months ago.

ZOTAC StarCraft II North America Cup Last weekend the final ZOTAC SC2NA Cup was played out and it was a final worthwhile. A fight between North America and South Korea emerged on the virtual battlefield as the Canadian “Hendralisk” surprisingly took out a lot of good players, but unfortunately lost in the semi-final to the tournament winner “violet”. Since May 2011 the Hall of Fame was dominated by South Koreans and in the end they managed to win over 80 percent of all ZOTAC StarCraft II NA Cups. ZOTAC StarCraft II Monthly Final
Just this Tuesday the ZOTAC Monthly Final was going down in huge fashion and “Tefel” was on a run! He flawlessly took out all his opponents until the semi-final and did not lose a single map until then. In the final “Tefel” had to face the South Korean “Burning” who managed to defeat “Avatar”, “Kas” and “Nerchio” previously though and “Tefel”’s winning streak came to an end. In four nail-biting maps, “Burning” claimed victory with a 3:1 score.

1st place: Burning (South Korea)
2nd place: Tefel (Poland)
3rd place: Nerchio (Poland)

ZOTAC FIFA Cup
Another month has passed and just like last month, the German player “M4rv” scored and became part of the cup history. In cup #198 he made it to the final but was defeated by “Ufenok” who managed to get his first title in the ZOTAC FIFA Cup. “M4rv” together with “dawnsson” extended the lead of the German titles with an advantage of 21 points in front of Bulgaria.

ZOTAC WarCraft III Cup
A lot of gamers gathered around for one last time on January 25th as at this day an era of competitive gaming was coming to an end. More than six years ZOTAC supported WarCraft III as a tournament title and it was hard to let go. The final stage of the tournament on Saturday was intense as so many well-known players showed up and the final was absolutely mind-blowing. “LawLiet” and “Cechi” met in the final and went the full distance of five exciting maps.
