ZOTAC GAMING ZONE - How to Update the Display Firmware
Some early units may encounter a black screen while entering "exclusive fullscreen" mode in some video game titles.
To fix this issue, you can try to update the display firmware. Please note that users should only attempt this if they encounter this issue!
You will need the following items:
- A PC
- A keyboard
- A USB 3.0 drive
- A high-quality USB hub
- The ZONE with at least 80% battery charge, and plugged in to a power source
To update the display firmware:
1. Download the display firmware from our Download Center : ZOTAC | Mini PCs and GeForce RTX Gaming Graphics Cards | ZOTAC
2. Unzip the contents of the .zip file you've downloaded. Inside, there will be an EDID.reg file, and another .zip file named LT7911_T209.zip. Unzip LT7911_T209.zip and place the contents within in a USB drive formatted in FAT32. Make sure that the "efi" folder is located in the root directory of the drive.
3. Using a docking station or a high-quality USB Hub, plug a keyboard and the bootable USB created in step 2 into the ZONE.
4. Turn off the ZONE and turn it back on using the power button. As soon as the ZONE starts to boot up, press F7 until you see the BIOS menu. Choose "Enter Setup" to enter the ZONE's BIOS.
5. Using the Arrow keys on the keyboard, navigate to Security > Secure Boot. Then, set secure boot to "disabled." Then, select the USB Drive (Partition 1) in the "Save & Exit" menu.
6. Wait for the firmware updating process to complete; the device will shut itself down once it is completed.
7. At this point, it is safe to unplug the keyboard and the USB drive from the ZONE. Boot up the ZONE as usual.
8. Then, double click the file named EDID.reg you downloaded in step 1. Confirm when prompted by a dialogue box.
9. Repeat step 4 and 5 to re-enable secure boot, and select "Save Changes and Reset" in "Save & Exit."
10. Display firmware update is completed.
