What’s New On The ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 30 Series?

2020.09.16 4:00 PM

You may have already seen what’s available from ZOTAC GAMING for the new GeForce RTX 30 series. If you haven’t, don’t worry. Read this first and at the end, you can click on to see for yourself. It’s a great line up and we hope you like what you see.

New Names

Trinity and Twin Edge make their debut with the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 30 series graphics cards. Trinity models have triple fan designs while Twin Edge models will have dual-fan designs. Simple.

Design

The new ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 30 series graphics cards take on a whole new design. This is the most noticeable and easiest difference to spot.

What you don’t know from just seeing the difference is how it took a lot of restraint. What do we mean? Designers and Product Managers can provide a long list of wants and/or must haves for a new design so keeping it simple is not easy. The new ZOTAC GAMING 30 series cards are not overly designed, overly garish, overly gaming, or…. overly anything. Just the right amount of minimal and detail. Of course, this is our subjective view and we hope we were able to convey this message through the designs themselves.

HoloBlack

The centerpiece of the new design on the next generation of ZOTAC GAMING graphics card. You’ll see it on AMP Extreme and other models with the “Holo” description in it. So what is HoloBlack? Well, to put it simply, it’s just the design element used on part of the graphics card design that’s easily distinguished by its colors. To put it in more fancy terms, it’s an added flourish with a unique design embracing an aurora-like holographic finish that exerts motion in stillness. The flourish shifts in color depending on the angle of view with a transparency that is only visible when the SPECTRA 2.0 RGB traces of light glows underneath. When the lighting is off, it’ll look non-transparent and will look great even on no RGB builds as the lighting is designed in a way where if you were to disable the lighting, the paths of light will be almost invisible. As if the card didn’t have any lighting built in at all.

SPECTRA 2.0

RGB will not go away anytime soon. But with SPECTRA 2.0 ARGB Lighting, at least you will be able to turn off the light should you so wish. The good thing is that the lighting settings you apply will be remembered onboard the card itself so you won’t need to run the ZOTAC GAMING FireStorm software again unless you want to make changes to it or are using it for other things such as custom fan curves, monitoring the GPU, or other things.

Depending on the model, you’ll also have the ability to control certain zones of lighting too. Lastly, we’ve introduced some new lighting effects to choose from which we won’t spoil for you here, so be sure to try them out.

IceStorm 2.0

While the name of the cooling system used on the new generation of ZOTAC GAMING graphics cards is the same, it’s performance is better than the last. We’ve made improvements in the visible and under the hood to make it perform even better.

The most notable is the new 11 blade fan. With more blades and a wider wing span on each blade, its able to provide up to 10% more airflow at the same RPM when compared to the previous generation fan design.

The heatsink is beefed up using a design segmenting portions of the heatsink in up to 3 sections to improve heat dissipation. The heatpipes have also been beefed up utilizing up to 7. In addition, the heatpipes have been strategically placed to provide more direct contact with the GPU to improve heat dissipation even more.

Active Fan Control with FREEZE fan stop is now available across a wider variety of cards this generation.

Backplate

The backplates are back. Some models this generation have lighted backplates for you to adjust and control the lighting so they pop just that much more should you wish.
